Jorge Rivas has been writing about the intersection of race, politics, and culture for almost two decades. He started his career at Colorlines, he was a founding member of the team that launched Fusion, the ABC News and Univision joint venture, and Splinter News.

He has been recognized with a GLAAD Media Award, and medals from the National Association of Hispanic Journalists for his investigative work on immigration detention centers.
